Trial, Shipping, and Refund Policy
Saddles
PLEASE NOTE - Redwood Tack's trial terms are binding and non-negotiable unless specifically otherwise discussed. Buyers MUST follow the trial policy in order to be refunded should a saddle not work. You will NOT receive a refund if shipping instructions and timelines below are not adhered to.
Saddles purchased through Redwood Tack come with a trial policy so you can ensure the correct fit for you and your horse. At the time of your order, you will be charged for the saddle. The purchase price of the saddle is refundable if you need to make a return.
Length of trial is five days.
These days are calculated as the date of delivery plus four additional calendar days.
Extensions of the trial period are sometimes available as needed by request.
Signature is required for delivery. Please make sure you chose a shipping address where someone will be available to sign. Saddle can be held at your local post office if you prefer. Contact leah@redwoodtack.com to arrange that.
If UPS attemps delivery and no one is there to sign for the package, your trial will begin the following business day. It is your responsibility to pick up the package from your UPS access point or arrange for delivery after that point.
Deadline for initiating saddle return shipping is no later than one (1) additional business days after trial period ends, which is at the end of the fifth day OR the day you give notice that you will be returning, whichever occurs first. You MUST communicate that you are returning the saddle within the time allowed for trial, otherwise the sale will be final.
Saddle needs to be returned in same condition for full refund of saddle purchase price (less restocking fee). If the saddle is returned dirty or needing any conditioning etc. there will be a $50 charge.
Please note - UPS does NOT guarantee any of their expedited shipping services. If an expedited shipping option is selected and the package does not arrive in the specified time frame, a refund cannot be guaranteed.
Taxes
We are required by law to collect sales taxes in the following states (subject to change): OH, NC, NJ, GA, CA, PA, FL and AZ

RETURN INSTRUCTIONS:
Use UPS ground shipping with insurance (the same method I use to send to you) to ship back if returning.

Buyer is responsible for shipping cost to return the saddle. There is a restocking fee of 3% of the saddle's sale price which covers the processing fees, deducted from the return once the saddle is received. Original shipping cost is non-refundable.
If the saddle does not arrive back to Redwood Tack within 5 business days via UPS from the end of your trial period which is at the end of the fifth day OR the day you give notice that you will be returning, whichever occurs first, there will be an additional $150 deduction from your refund - unless shipment is delayed due to UPS.
If the saddle is not received within 7 total days from the end of your trial period, which is at the end of the fifth day OR the day you give notice that you will be returning, whichever occurs first, it will be refused at the post office and returned to you, which will result in a final sale.
If you have special circumstances (stormy weather, only ride on weekends, etc.), let me know any time before your trial period expires and I can consider adjusting your trial length accordingly. Trial length adjustment is not guaranteed and will be on a case by case basis.
Saddles are sold as-is. The trial period serves as your opportunity to inspect and test ride the saddle. You are welcome to have your trainer and/or saddler inspect the saddle. Used items are not guaranteed to be free of wear or damage. Redwood Tack is not a manufacturer, and therefore cannot offer a guarantee on items. NO refunds will be offered as a result of any saddler or trainer inspections made after the trial period has ended. We are not responsible for any suitability or condition issues brought to our attention after the trial period ends. Used saddles are sold AS IS.
A note about Buffalo vs. Calfskin leather - serial number stamps do not indicate leather type. The only way to verify 100% is to run the serial number through the saddle makers' system. Redwood Tack advertises Buffalo or Calfskin on best-guess premises, with years of experience with both types of leather, but this cannot be guaranteed. Redwood Tack is not responsible for discrepancies in leather type discovered after the trial period has ended. Restocking fees will still apply if discrepancies in leather type are found within the trial time frame.
DEPOSITS - If we arrange to hold a saddle with a deposit, the deposit is non-refundable unless otherwise agreed upon in advance.
If a saddle is purchased and the buyer needs to cancel the order before it has been shipped there will be a $100 non-refundable charge deducted from the purchase price.
Failure to comply with trial policy will result in a final sale of saddle. Saddles are not eligible for a refund if the trial policy is violated.
All other Tack
All other tack is sold as is and cannot be returned. I am here to help so if you believe there is something wrong with any item you received please let me know and we can work out a solution that is acceptable to all parties.
