It needs to fit your horse, you, and ideally be of quality design. After buying my mare and realizing my older Prestige saddle did not fit her, it was time to find something that fit us both exactly the way I wanted. She and I are equally difficult – she’s a shark fin OTTB and I have a long femur. My 8-month long search felt increasingly hopeless and I was having less and less fun riding a high-withered TB bareback (ouch!). After seeing what was available in my local market, I realized I would not have the luxury of buying something within my province. I narrowed down my list to a number of high-end brands that were known to accommodate high-withered horses. While poking around on Instagram one day I came across Redwood Tack’s account. Numerous images of beautiful saddles intrigued me to go to the website. I reached out to Leah with my needs. I was nervous to write that I was searching for a CWD, Antares, Bruno Delgrange, Butet for under $3k – I thought for sure I would be laughed away. MUCH to the contrary. I had a friendly e-mail response from Leah within half an hour with three links to saddles that fit my criteria. When I wasn’t sold on those, she reached out to me every time something matched me. Within a few weeks, I’d found it.

Her service response time, openness, and kindness is unparalleled. Once I’d ordered she followed up a few times to see if it had arrived, it seemed she was as excited as me! The item was packaged flawlessly and my saddle arrived clean and conditioned. I was shaking the next day at the barn to see how it would fit, when it did, I almost cried. I had never ridden in a CWD and I am officially converted. Well worth the money. I feel completely locked in and my mare moves beautifully in it. It fits us both wonderfully and it’s pretty to boot.

I highly recommend Leah, and as a Canadian customer it was seamless to get the product to me. I have since purchased my CWD stirrup leathers from Leah and I have been eyeing a few other accessories. I find myself checking her site regularly as there are always lots of goodies to find.
